Bath's Alexandra Park is situated just off Bear Flat, at the top of Shakespeare Avenue. This Bath park is situated at the top of a steep hill and offers some of the best panoramic views across Bath, which are simply spectacular. Other attractions include pathways, seating areas, a playground for children and large open areas of grass.

The National Trust's Prior Park Landscape Gardens are situated in the outskirts of Bath and were created in the 18th century by local entrepreneur Ralph Allen, with advice from Capability Brown and the poet Alexander Pope. Set in a sweeping valley with magnificent views of the city of Bath, the Prior Park Landscape Gardens have many interesting attractions, including the Palladian Bridge, three large lakes and many specimen plants. The gardens are easily reached using Bath's bus network and regular buses are available from the station in Southgate, central Bath.
Gardens open: February to November, daily except Tuesday (February to April and October to November - 12:00 to 17:30, May to September - 11:00 to 17:30), December to January, Friday to Sunday - 12:00 to 17:30

The Botanical gardens in Bath are located in the famous Victoria Park, on the north side of the park. Created more than 100 years ago and covering over nine acres, Bath's Botanic Gardens are close to the centre of Bath and are home to many spectacular plants, trees and shrubs, including many unusual specimens. Highlights at the gardens include large Japanese maples, a replica of a grand Roman Temple, a scented walk, mature roses and an impressive herbaceous border. The Botanical Gardens at Victoria Park are perhaps best known for having the largest collection of plants growing on limestone in the West Country.

The interesting Georgian Garden in the centre of Bath is close to Victoria Park and successfully recreates a typical 18th-century back garden in Bath. Created around 20 years ago, the formal Georgian Garden is fairly small and well designed, with many traditional and authentic varieties and plants and flowers.

Located in the centre of Bath, Hedgemead Park is in the Camden / Walcot district of Bath and is set on a steep hillside. The park has been developed since the late 19th century, when more than 100 houses collapsed in a large landslide on this site. Highlights at the park include many seating areas, open areas of grass, a good playground area for children, colourful flower islands, rose borders, large trees and an attractive bandstand.

The wonderful Henrietta Park is one of Bath's most loved parks and covers around seven acres. With many huge trees, shrubs and large areas of flowers, the gardens were created in 1897 to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. Highlights include the tranquil Memorial Garden, which has a large pond filled with goldfish and surrounded by benches, Braille labels for the blind, and pergolas covered with climbing roses and wisteria.

The Parade Gardens are situated close to the weir and river, in the heart of Bath. These central gardens are a popular spot for tourists visiting Bath and provide the perfect place for a picnic. Attractions at Bath's Parade Gardens include colorful flowerbeds, large trees, areas of open grass, views of the river, pathways, benches, regular children's activities, and a bandstand with concerts on Sundays.

Iford Manor and gardens are situated 8 km / 5 miles south of Bath and lie in a hidden combe next to the River Frome. The stunning gardens at Iford Manor were designed and landscaped by Harold Peto when he owned the estate more than 100 years ago. Attractions include an impressive Italian garden with terrace area, a Japanese garden with pond and lanterns, large trees and specimen plants, and each summer the gardens become the venue for intimate musical performances, recitals and operas in the cloisters building. Much of the gardens are on a fairly steep hillside and therefore access by wheelchair to some areas of the gardens can prove difficult.
